This workshop offers a comprehensive foundation in safeguarding children, tailored for educators, professionals, and individuals working with children. It provides an in-depth understanding of child protection concepts, legislation, and trauma-informed practices to help participants confidently address child safety concerns. Key topics include understanding child protection laws and legal responsibilities, recognising and responding to different types of child abuse and neglect, identifying indicators and effects, and navigating mandatory reporting requirements, including what, when, and how to report.  

Participants will also learn how to apply trauma-informed care to support children affected by abuse and explore practical strategies and resources to integrate child protection principles into everyday practice. By addressing common myths and misconceptions about child abuse, this workshop empowers participants with the knowledge and tools needed to create safe, supportive environments and contribute to the prevention of abuse and neglect.
