Child Development: 0 – 30 months

To construct meaningful curriculum for young children, educators need to have a sound understanding of anticipated learning trajectories for many different ages, while understanding that all children will develop and learn at their own pace.

For children from 0 – 30 months there is a rapid period of growth in every domain.

The importance of attachment and relationships in early development is highlighted.

Drawing on a range of theories and approaches to curriculum will inform educators about realistic expectations for children, recognise where extra support is needed and guide planning and curriculum approaches.
