Safe Sleep and Rest Practices

This workshop focuses on creating safe, nurturing and compliant sleep and rest environments.

Participants will learn how to implement safe sleep practices in line with regulatory requirements, Red Nose Australia guidelines and the NQS.

The session will also cover maintaining accurate documentation, meeting supervision requirements, and balancing individual sleep and rest needs with best practice guidelines.

Educators will gain strategies to support children’s varying sleep and relaxation needs, including creating inclusive routines for non-sleepers and using calming techniques to promote emotional wellbeing.

The workshop will also highlight the importance of identifying and managing sleep-related risks through regular assessments and safety procedures.

Additionally, participants will explore ways to foster a safe and nurturing rest environment that responds to children’s emotional needs, supports those experiencing sleep difficulties, and encourages relaxation through mindful activities.
