There are many similarities between rituals and rhythms, and routines and transitions.

They both provide predictability and familiarity and therefore security for children thereby supporting exploration and learning.

By embedding a ‘sacred’ ritual into the ‘humble’ routine we make the everyday extraordinary with infants, toddlers and pre-schools.

It is the rituals that we embed into our routines that make the routines work and connect the daily rhythms of the room and the service.
