This topic aims to provide an overview of children’s oral language, speech, and communication development across the ages of 0 – 5 focusing. It describes the anticipated typical development of these language skills and highlights when to seek help for children who may be at risk of missing important language milestones as they grow. Strategies for identifying risks, how to seek support are also discussed along with providing positive practical steps for educators to take in supporting every child’s language development.
