Child Safety in OSHC

This essential workshop provides educators with the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to embed child safety within every aspect of Out of School Hours Care

(OSHC). Participants will explore the key principles and obligations that underpin child-safe environments, including recognising risks, responding appropriately to concerns, and fostering a culture of trust and accountability.

The session unpacks core concepts and current frameworks, linking them to real-world practice through discussion, case examples, and reflection. Educators will learn how to implement strategies that strengthen children’s voice, empowerment, and participation while ensuring policies and procedures are meaningful and effective in everyday contexts.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have a clear understanding of their professional responsibilities and the proactive steps they can take to promote safety and wellbeing for every child in their care. This is a must-attend session for anyone committed to building a strong, transparent, and child-focused OSHC environment.
